Tips to Stop Your Beagle Barking at The Moon

So what are you supposed to do about your beagle barking at the moon?

Tip 1 - No yelling or shouting. If you yell at your dog, you are making your beagle even more excited.

Dog psychology is very interesting. If you start yelling, your beagle thinks that you are barking, too, because there is actually a good reason to bark. No yelling, please.

Tip 2 - No punishment. Punishment is the worst idea ever when you train your dog, in our opinion. Can dogs learn if you use punishment? Yes, beagles are clever dogs and can learn to be afraid of you, for example. Your beagle might stop the behavior when you are there, but you cannot be there all the time.

Tip 3 - Training and retraining a desired behavior.

If you want your beagle to be quiet instead, you will have to reinforce being quiet and reward your beagle for being quiet instead of barking.
