Beagle Puppy Training: Barking (video)
This video (over two minutes long) features Max aka The Cute Beagle Puppy barking. Beagle puppies are the cutest thing ever. You don’t need to watch the whole 2 minutes to get the point of today’s tip.
What is the point of this video? To show you that even though your puppy barking might seem something cute, it is really dangerous to reinforce this behavior.
Not only dangerous, it is also not very clever. If you reinforce the behavior as a puppy by laughing, giving your puppy praise and attention when they bark, it is going to make your life and your beagle’s training much more complicated. Why? Because your beagle is going to be extremely confused about what you want. One minute barking is “cute” and attracts your attention, the next minute you are upset.
