Beagle recallThis post answers a very frequently asked question: how come my beagle turns “deaf” as soon as we go out for a walk or to the park?

You need to bear in mind that beagles are guided by their nose so as soon as you take your beagle out the environment is offering a lot of strong distractions.

The breed was developed so that their ears would cover their face and protect the scent they picked up!!! Yes, those cute ears actually had that function.

Anyway, you can teach your beagle to come and how to come even though there are other distractions. In this first video one you will learn a game you can play with your beagle to train the “come” response.

In video number two you will learn how to add distractions.

BONUS TIP – Set your beagle for success. Start in an environment with no distractions and then gradually add distractions. It is not a good idea to start directly in the park.

SUPER BONUS TIP – Beagles go out ALWAYS on a leash!!!
