Common Beagle Health Problem 4 – Vomiting
Dogs vomit more often than human beings. However, sometimes vomiting is a signal that something is seriously wrong.
- Common Causes: A fast ingestion of dry food, a sudden change in their diet or the ingestion of something that your beagle’s body cannot digest can cause acute vomiting.
Another possible cause of vomiting are worms and parasites and worms (roundworms, Giardia, Coccidia).
A foreign object can block your beagle’s digestive track and this can cause sudden and repeated vomiting. The ingestion of poison can also be a cause for sudden and repeated vomiting. Other signals of obstruction are lack of movement and bloating. If this is the case, you should consult with your vet immediately.
- What Signals to Watch for: When vomiting is a serious health issue, it is often accompanied by diarrhea, lethargy, behavioral problems, etc. Plus, when beagle vomit several times, it can indicate that something worse.
These are the two forms of vomiting that you should worry about:
Acute Vomiting – If your beagle vomits several times suddenly, it may indicate an emergency and should get immediate treatment.
Chronic Vomiting – If your beagle vomits every week without fail, it can be a signal of a chronic problem connected with another illness or allergy.

How to Prevent Vomiting: There is no direct way to prevent one of the common beagle health problems as vomiting. However, these are some things that you can do daily to keep your beagle healthy:
Avoid giving your beagle table scraps.
Avoid giving your beagle large meals if they eat too fast.
Avoid letting your beagle play with objects they can ingest.
